Founded in 1903, PCHAS provides Christ-centered care for children and families in need. The agency has two core goals of (1) permanent homes for children and (2) self-sufficiency for their families. The San Antonio programs include Transitional Living for young adults aging out of foster care; Single Parent Family provides housing and services to give struggling single parents a chance to raise their children in a safe, nurturing environment where they can all succeed; and Child & Family to stabilize families in crisis.
The San Antonio campus expansion which began in 2020 is finalizing the first homes to be occupied soon. The caring congregation of San Pedro Presbyterian Church has helped to secure many home essentials for the new units which will be occupied by families and young adults in the near future.
