As we begin to see the real possibility of returning to a time that our lives together feel more normal, lots of folks are working hard to be sure we are ready. As I came out of the church today, I ran into Susie Guerrero and Jonette Simpson with an armful of choir robes. They are just a part of a group of folks who are working to get the robes for our choir cleaned and ready for use. In addition to Susie and Jonette, Rachael Trevino, Charlotte Noll, Nancy Lowry, Charlotte Randolph, and Bobbie Kelner have been working on this project.
It's easy to forget all of the pieces that have to come together for worship, and for a healthy church to function. At first glance, these small tasks can seem inconsequential. But the reality is that these tasks are vital. Ecclesiastes 9:10 reminds us, "Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might . . ."
Never let yourself think that your contribution to God's kingdom is small, regardless of what it is. It's important. It's significant. So, do it with your might for the glory of the Lord.
