†INTROIT “Creation Song”

Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord! Let everything that has breath,

shout and sing. For God created the heavens and earth by speaking only a word,

Let everything that has breath, praise the Lord!

ALL:    Receive our praise and worship Oh Lord!

†HYMN OF PRAISE #89 “Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee”

Jesus, the very thought of Thee With sweetness fills my breast;

But sweeter far Thy face to see And in Thy presence rest.

No voice can sing, no heart can frame, Nor can the mem’ry find

A sweeter sound than Thy blest name, O Savior of mankind.

O hope of ev’ry contrite heart, O joy of all the meek,

To those who fall, how kind Thou art! How good to those who seek!

But what to those who find? Ah, this Nor tongue nor pen can show;

The love of Jesus, what it is, None but His loved ones know.

Jesus, our only joy be Thou, As Thou our prize wilt be;

Jesus, be Thou our glory now And thro’ eternity.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION (First in Silence, then in Unison):

Lord your word is clear: you care about your people and have provided more than enough for all of us. And so we pray,” Teach us to be faithful Lord.” Forgive us for the ways in which our generosity does not glorify you. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE  “Lamb of God”

Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world; have mercy on us. Lamb of God, Lamb of God, you take away the sin of the world. Grant us peace; grant us peace.

†HYMN OF PREPARATION #592 “Jesus Calls Us”

Jesus calls us o’er the tumult Of our life’s wild, restless sea;

Day by day His sweet voice soundeth, Saying, “Christian, follow Me.”

Jesus calls us from the worship Of the vain world’s golden store,

From each idol that would keep us, Saying, “Christian, love Me more.”

In our joys and in our sorrows, Days of toil and hours of ease,

Still He calls, in cares and pleasures, “Christian, love Me more than these.”

Jesus calls us: by Thy mercies, Savior, may we hear Thy call.

Give our hearts to Thine obedience, Serve and love Thee best of all.

SERMON SCRIPTURE READING

Proverbs 3:9-10 Honor the Lord from your wealth, And from the first of all your produce; Then your barns will be filled with plenty, And your vats will overflow with new wine.

Matthew 6:24-27 “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they? And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span?

SERMON “The Results of Generosity” Dr. Bryan Stamper

†PROCLAMATION OF FAITH “The Apostles Creed”

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy catholic Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND THE LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

LORD HEAR OUR PRAYER

Lord hear our prayer, hear our prayer have mercy on us. Lord hear our prayer, hear our prayer have mercy on us.

CONNECTION CARDS

THE GIVING OF GOD’S TITHES AND OUR OFFERINGS

THE OFFERTORY “Who’ll Be a Witness?” arr. Patti Drennan

Who’ll be a witness for my Lord? Who’ll be a witness for my Lord?

Who’ll be a witness for my Lord? I’ll be a witness for my Lord.

There was a man from the Pharisees.

His name was Nicodemus and he didn’t believe.

The same came to Christ by night, wanted to be taught out of human sight.

Nicodemus was a man who desired to know

how a man could be born when he is old.

“Marvel not, man, if you want to be wise, repent, believe and be baptized.

Then you’ll be a witness for my Lord. You’ll be a witness for my Lord.

You’ll be a witness for my Lord. Soul is a witness for my Lord.

You read about Samson, from his birth.

He was the strongest man that ever lived on earth.

Way back yonder in ancient time, He killed ten thousand of the Philistines.

The old Samson went a-wand’rin’ about. Samson’ strength was never found out,

‘til his-a wife sat upon his knee. She said,

“Tell me where you strength lies, if you please!”

Samson’ wife, she talk-a so fair. Samson said, “Cut off-a my hair. Shave-a my head just as clean as your hand, and my strength will come like a natural man!”

Then Samson was a witness for my Lord. Samson was a witness for my Lord.

Samson was a witness for my Lord. Soul is a witness for my Lord.

There’s another witness. There’s another witness. There’s another witness.

My soul is a witness for my Lord. I’ll be a witness. I’ll be a witness.

My soul is a witness. I’m gonna be a witness for You.

†DOXOLOGY AND DEDICATION “Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow”

Praise God from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below;

Praise Him above, ye heavenly host: Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen.

†SENDING HYMN #443 “O Zion, Haste”

O Zion, haste, thy mission high fulfilling,

To tell to all the world that God is Light;

That He who made all nations is not willing

One soul should perish, lost in shades of night.

Publish glad tidings, tidings of peace; Tidings of Jesus, redemption, and release.

Proclaim to ev’ry people, tongue and nation

That God, in whom they live and move, is love:

Tell how He stooped to save His lost creation

And died on earth that we might live above.

Publish glad tidings, tidings of peace; Tidings of Jesus, redemption, and release.

Give of thy sons to bear the message glorious;

Give of thy wealth to speed them on their way.

Pour out thy soul for them in prayer victorious;

And all thy spending Jesus will repay.

Publish glad tidings, tidings of peace; Tidings of Jesus, redemption, and release.

†CLOSING THOUGHTS

†THE CHARGE AND THE BENEDICTION

†THE CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE  “Go Now in Peace”

Go now in peace, never be afraid. God will go with you each hour of ev’ry day. Go now in faith, steadfast, strong and true. Know He will guide you in all you do. Go now in love and show you believe. Reach out to others so all the world can see. God will be there watching from above. Go now in peace, in faith, and in love.
