Current statistics confirm the average life expectancy for Americans at a record high of 79 years. As people get older, even the most independent among us may experience physical declines or financial hardship that strips away independence. Add to that an increase in geographic mobility of our families, and the result is millions of seniors left behind, hungry and alone.
Meals on Wheels is a national non-profit who deliver meals for people in need and/or who can not leave their homes. The Missions Committee at San Pedro has asked the Session to approve the use of our building as a pick up site for local Meals on Wheels drivers. The Session unanimously approved the request in April. Visitors to our campus will see signs outside the Arnold Building that serve as markers for the drivers who pick up meals Monday through Friday.
We are able to offer our building to other non-profits because of the generous donations of our members; your gifts keep our buildings in good condition and available for others in our community.
